Commitment to Continual Improvement

Recertification for Our Integrated Management System consisting of ISO 45001, 14001 & 9001

We are proud to have achieved recertification of our ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety), ISO 9001:2015 (Quality) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental). The three of these systems combined make up ATG Group’s Integrated Management System.

Thanks to our robust internal processes and procedures, we received no non-conformances on our recertification audit. We wanted to thank all our staff because everyone feeds into the management system in the daily work that they do!

Do you want to find out more about these certifications and why we are proud of this achievement? Please have a look below where we’ll talk about them in more detail.

Mark McKinney – Managing Director, ATG Group

Since the beginning, we have strived for excellence in everything we do, hoping to set an example in the industry. Achieving our recertification in all three ISO standards is a remarkable achievement and we hope it communicates to our clients and other stakeholders that we’re committed to continual improvement. We have some very ambitious objectives & targets set over the next three years and I’m excited to see what we can achieve.

What are ISO Standards?

ISO Standards are documents published by the International Standards Office in Switzerland. Once these are published, each country adopts the standard, making any relevant changes to conform to the legislation in that country.

Quality Management System – ISO 9001:2015

Our Quality Management System focuses on ensuring that we have adequate procedures in place to ensure that the products and services we provide are of the quality we expect. This includes methods for measuring our performance, such as customer feedback, internal audits and management reviews.

All members of senior management at ATG Group will review the progress on our quality objectives and targets, to make sure adequate resources have been assigned to complete them.

Environmental Management System – ISO 14001:2015

Our environmental management system focuses specifically on controlling the impact we have on habitats, greenhouse gas emissions and protected wildlife among many other things. We call it “aspects & impacts” and while we have a register that contains all the potential impacts of our works, we will create a site-specific one for each of our larger projects.

There are many different types of environmental legislation, which we are glad to see! These can differ slightly from country to country, however, the purpose of our system is to appropriately capture these compliance obligations and detail how we ensure we’ll meet the requirements.

We are an environmental company, so many of our impacts are positive rather than negative, but we make sure to capture as many as possible with a view to measuring our net carbon footprint by the end of 2024.

Occupational Health & Safety Management System – ISO 45001:2018

Previously known as OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001 expands on guidance published by the Health and Safety Executive in the United Kingdom, known as HSG65.

Safety has never been an area where ATG Group will compromise to complete projects. Many of our treatment methods involve working in construction-related occupations, working with hazardous substances as well as the more unseen risk of working in an office environment.

We work to not only achieve the compliance aspects of health and safety but to ensure that no harm comes to our employees during the work that they complete. For example, this involves routine health surveillance, risk assessments, site inspections, project audits and engaging external competent advice.

We combine a range of leading and lagging indicators to help us measure our health and safety performance, as well as placing an emphasis on staff wellbeing, both physically and mentally.

A large amount of documentation forms the health and safety management system, along with policies, procedures, registers, forms and checklists, method statements and standard operating procedures.

All the ISO Standards are focused around the “PDCA” cycle, which means plan, do, check and act. This forms the continual improvement cycle, meaning it can never be finished and there will always be somewhere to improve.

As we grow, holding ourselves to these standards provides us with confidence in our ability to scale. But also provides our potential customers with confidence that ATG Group will continue to deliver quality solutions that have been crafted while keeping the environment in mind, with no compromise to the health and safety of our employees or contractors.
